Mexico Children’s Foundation Walk 2016 is here!

200 miles. 322 kilometers. It is a long distance to walk. Seaside Reservations owner Steve Schwab does the walk from Phoenix to Puerto Peñasco every year. Now into the fourth day, Steve is getting close to Gila Bend, Arizona. Why does he do it?

“Every year I personally walk from Scottsdale, Arizona to Puerto Peñasco to raise funds and awareness for the Mexico Children’s Foundation. All of the money raised goes directly into the Mexico Children’s Foundation to serve the less fortunate children in the communities served by Sea Side Reservations. We assist with medical care. Things like tests, medicine, even transportation out of town to see a specialist.”

Over the years, the list grows of the children helped by the foundation.

“The annual walk is an opportunity to make a statement that children are our future and no child should be left behind because of economics or medical challenge,” said Mr. Schwab. “Please join us! You can go to https://www.gofundme.com/MCFcharitywalk to make a tax deductible donation.” Currently, this year we have raised over $7,000 dollars!

Mr. Schwab lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and is the President of the Schwab Organization. His company operates the Sea Side Reservations and the Signature Vacation Rentals companies that manage short-term vacation rental properties in Mexico and the US respectively. He is also the founder and president of the Mexico Children’s Foundation providing financial support to children with medical needs.

Carribean Parrot welcomes Mark Mulligan to Rocky Point

imageCarribean Parrot seems to be Mark Mulligan’s new home when in Rocky Point. Located on Sinaloa Blvd. on the way to the Mirador area (a little way past Capone’s), Carribean Parrot is a spacious place to have lunch, dinner, or an adult beverage.

With walls covered in tropical nick-nacks (palm trees, parrots, sharks etc.) and a good sized stage, it is the perfect setting to listen to Mark sing his tales of life and love south of the border.

This Saturday, November 29th, Mark Mulligan returns, just him and his guitar. This will be his third visit in recent months. His previous shows played to nearly full houses of enthusiastic fans. This time, the music gets started at 4pm with an opening set from local singer/song writer Jessie Gerardo. Then at 5pm, Mark takes the stage.

If you haven’t heard his songs that talk about the charm of living on the coast of Mexico, come and be prepared to be won over. Get there early, as those who already love Mark Mulligan’s music should be out in force.

Saturday, November 29th, at the Carribean Parrot. Call 388 0660 for reservations. Show starts at 4pm with Jessie Gerardo. Mark Mulligan begins at 5pm.

Patti Springer Art in the Park Art Fair

image

For the last few years, folks in the Las Conchas neighborhood have honored the memory of resident artist Patti Springer with an annual art event. The call is out for artists to participate. Some go the extra mile and give a demonstration of how they create their work.

People drop by to do some Holiday shopping, enjoy the live music, have a glass of wine, and eat crispy carnitas tacos. A sunny afternoon of good times, kids dance barefoot and old friends catch up on things. All of it helps the charities that the residents of Las Conchas support through events like this, sponsored by the Las Conchas Community Relations Committee.

Come see the metal artists, painters, grafts sellers and more at the Patti Springer Art in the Park. It happens at the Las Conchas Fiesta Park. Ask at the gate for easy directions.

The event is on Saturday, November 29th, from 11am to 4pm. Artists set up begins at 9am. The cost to display your art is $20.00 US. Free and open to the public. For more information, or to reserve a space contact Lori at 382 0139, or Maria at 382 0050 por Espaniol./

Tiki Bar at the Sonoran Sky

image

It’s high tide, and the waves lap close to the deck where you are seated. More like swinging, actually. A row of individual hammock/chairs spin in the soft breeze, and you spin right along with them. If only someone would hand you a Pina Colada…As if by magic, a hand stretches out in front of you, holding a long cool glass topped with a cherry. Beads of moisture cover the glass, letting you know it is cold, cold, cold. Beach vibe perfection.

The Tiki Bar at the Sonoran Sky Resort sits right on the sand, lounge chairs and hammocks shaded from the afternoon sun. People staying at the resort can choose to slip into the pool above the bar when they want to cool off. Heck, they will even keep serving you! Open to the public, people often walk down from other places where they are staying.

One of the few spots to have a drink right on the beach (why is that?), the Tiki Bar is a casual little place that you just might like. Reserve your stay at the Sky with Seaside Reservations.

Condo or Beach House – what’s your preference?

Make the first cup of coffee, throw open the door, and walk right out onto the beach. A light morning breeze cools your face as you look left, then right. A dozen pelicans wait at the waters’ edge, sure that some fish will show up soon. Someone is walking their dog about a half mile away. That’s it. Stretching to the horizon in both directions, the beach is yours. But they said this was going to be a busy weekend. Is it always this quiet in Las Conchas?

Book your stay in Rocky Point with Seaside Reservations, and you will have a lot of options. The classic getaway usually involves a swanky condominium perched above the Sea of Cortez in one of the many high rise developments available. It’s a great way to go – all that you need to have a good time is right where you are. Between the beach, pools, swim up bars, and the comfort of your own patio, you’ve got the bases covered.

Sandy Beach’s high rises are just West of the center of town, while the rows of houses in Las Conchas are just to the East. A house is great if you want a a big family or two to stay in the same place. At the same time, smaller places are available too. Either way, the lower density makes even the predictably busy times like the Fourth of July or Labor Day seem quiter. Come down on an off weekend, and you could literally have only a handful of people as far as you can see. And you are still close enough to town to hit the hot spots, or smile as you see how easy it was to avoid them!

Whatever you prefer, let Seaside Reservations help you select a great place to stay. Don’t forget, we also offer a concierge service exclusively to those who book with us.
