Getting to Loreto Baja

By air.
Loreto has an international airport located approximately 7 miles North of Loreto Bay and 2 mile South of the town of Loreto. At the airport you will find a variety of car rental agencies and taxi service to the town of Loreto and Loreto Bay.

There are direct flight from Los Angeles, Calgary, La Paz, Los Cabos, Tijuana, Guadalajara and Calgary. Taxi charges are approximately 20 USD from the airport to Loreto bay or Nopolo.

By Car
From the south (la Paz or Los Cabos) take the Highway “Carretera” federal 1 or transpeninsular and drive for approximately 5 to 6 hours North, getting to Loreto you will see the colorful Loreto Bay Villages and the golf course.

Getting around Loreto

Loreto is a small, beautiful Coastal town. It is small enough that Loreto does not have a public bus service. Loreto is a great walking town but we do have the following:

Taxi
There are taxis available 24 hours a day in the town of Loreto that can take you to Loreto Bay or around Loreto. The price to Loreto Bay is around 300 pesos per way and in town around 100 pesos per way but please double check the rate before hiring the taxi.

Car rental
If you are planning to travel further than the town of Loreto during your stay, we suggest renting a car. The rates per day are low but keep in mind there are mandatory insurance costs that need to be included in your calculations. The car rental agencies in the town of Loreto are Fox rent-a-car, Alamo, Hertz and Europcar.
