Some of the top activities in Rocky Point include:
The Malecon – the long oceanfront boardwalk– is a popular gathering place to watch the sunset, listen to live music, tuck into a fresh seafood dish, and meet new friends over a beer or cocktail. For the best eats and music on the Malecon, head to Shark Bite, Boo Bar, Elixir Bar & Lounge, Beach Bum or JJ’s Cantina.
The nightlife in Rocky Point is legendary, and some watering holes, like Wrecked at the Reef, stay busy from morning until last call. Calle Trece is a street between the town itself and the Sandy Beach resorts. Jammed with revelers, you will find bars, clubs, and some surprisingly good tacos at two in the morning. Whether you’re looking for live music or techno beats, be sure to check out Ice Box, Baja Cantina, Banditos, Ice House, Elixir and Tekila Bar on the Malecon. Some of the beachfront Rocky Point resorts have DJ parties as well, so be sure to ask about special events for Spring Break partiers.
Cheese enchiladas, quesadillas and deep-fried coconut shrimp are the perfect hangover cure. Spring break visitors rave about the all-day breakfasts served at Wrecked at the Reef, and the Satisfied Frog Beach Bar serves up some tasty fried chicken and St. Louis-style ribs. This hopping beachfront hangout is also famous for its ultra-potent Rocky Point Iced Tea.

Rocky Point has the party atmosphere of Cancun, but without the costly plane ticket! Before booking your flights to Rocky Point Mexico, make sure your U.S. passport is up-to-date. If you’re planning on driving across the border, here are a few travel tips to make your Spring Break hassle-free.
Get Mexican auto insurance — your U.S. coverage isn’t valid once crossing the border. It’s the law, and having it keeps a minor fender-bender from turning into a big deal. No special car permits or tourist visas are needed to drive into Mexico for a short stay. Firearms, large amounts of cash, and illegal drugs are not allowed into Mexico. A valid passport is what the U.S. authorities will want to see when you are returning to Arizona.
