Sea Side Triahtlon

What a Great Success. A two day event of both Adult and Children Triathlons was put on by Sea Side Reservations and Tri-Family Racing. Over 220 participant from Both U.S. and Sonora the first Sea Side Triahlon will be the first of many.

Preparation for the Triathlon began a week prior to the event, including the selection of students to take part as a volunteer group.  Sea Side went to each classroom of the “Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Sonora” asking for participants and volunteers. The enthusiasm of these students was so great that we had many more volunteers than were needed to assist with this event.

To our surprise there were Mexican Athletes participating in this event they were from 12 to 16 years old, they all came from the City Hermosillo, Sonora. They were accompanied by some of the parents, their coach and the President of the Triathlon Association. Their performance throughout this event was outstanding, from the beginning when listening to the instructions of the race, the help each other in order to confirm that they understood them. You could also notice how proud each parent was at the time of the race.

A very special thanks to the City Police and the Red Cross for their support with the route and The ROCKY POINT CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU for helping coordinate the permits and letters to bring all the equipment in for the event.

 Princesa de Penasco  was very gracious for hosting the event. Many people commented about what a  beautiful setting it made for the event.  Look for our next Triathlon coming in April.

Con un gran exito. El evento de dos dias de Adultos y Jovenes  participantes el cual fue hecho por Sea Side Reservations y por Tri-Family Racing. Mas de 220 participantes de Estados Unidos y Sonora este fue el primer triatlon de muchos que Sea Side organiza.

La Preparacion de este triathlon fue hecha una semana antes del evento, incluyendo la seleccion de estudiantes como parte del grupo de voluntarios, SSR fue a los salones de clases del “Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Sonora” a informar a los estudiantes acerca del triathlon, el interes de estos estudiantes fue tanto que al 4to salon ya teniamos mas de los voluntarios que se necesitaban.

Para nuestra sorpresa hubo atletas Mexicanos participando en este evento, ellos fueron de los 12 a los 16 anos de edad, todos ellos vinieron de la ciudad de Hermosillo, Sonora. Los atletas fueron acompanados por algunos de sus padres asi como su entrenador y la Presidenta de la Asociacion del Triatlon. El desempeno de estos atletas en todo el evento fue exepcional, desde el comienza cuando escuchaban con atencion las instrucciones de la carrera, la ayuda entre ellos que se mostraba para confirmar que entendieron la ruta ya que las instrucciones fueron hechas en Ingles. Tambien se pudo apreciar cuan orgullosos estaban los padres de estos atletas en el momento de la carrera.

Un agradecimiento muy especial para el personal de Policia y la Cruz Roja por su ayuda con sus servicios y tambien al ROCKY POINT CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU por su ayuda en coordinar los permisos y cartas para la transportacion del equipo necesario para este evento.
