- ATV Rentals: Get ready to ride! Puerto Penasco is an ATV
paradise. Explore the rolling dunes, hills, and Sonoran Desert on your own
private speed machine. Beach riding is available, but not in Rocky Point city
limits. Not a worry though, you have your ATV to get you out of town; then ride
in the surf to your hearts content! ATV rental distributors are scattered
throughout Rocky Point, and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction
upon arrival.
- Aquariums: The
Center for Technological Sea Studies and Aqua Culture is a great place to
visit. Take in the wonders of the sea, as you look at octopus, or even feed the
sea turtles and sea lions. It is a fun and inexpensive activity that everyone
will enjoy!
- Downtown Eating and Shopping: Explore our downtown area for great shopping,
restaurants and bars. There are many local shops where you can bargain on items
that you love. Check out Casa Bonita for unique Mexican furniture or Old Port
Galeria for collectibles. Check out Visit Rocky Point for many great restaurants, with a
variety of choices. JJ's Cantina and Margaritaville are popular choices for food
and drink.
- Fishing: Enjoy vacationing with a rod and a reel? Board a boat and head out
on the open sea.
- Golf : The demand has been met! The addition of world-class golf in
Puerto Penasco has finally arrived. There is nothing better than a perfect
par four against the backdrop of the ocean and endless, sunny Mexico skies.
Golfing on intricate and challenging courses in Puerto Penasco has never been
easier, and more fun. Enjoy the much-awaited courses at Las Palmas, Laguna del
Mar, and Mayan Palace.
- Horseback Riding: Trot along the beach on horseback, and take in a truly
beautiful view of the ocean. Riding is available for all levels, and a variation
of prices. Ride in the surf ,and let your vacation officially begin.
- Jet Ski Rentals: Convenient beachside vendors will assist in providing you
with an exciting wave runner. Take a thrilling journey on the Sea of Cortez
solo, or with your favorite traveling companion. Riding the waves is one of the
most popular activities in Rocky Point. Come join in on the fun!
- Kayaking: Take in the sun-drenched sea from a different perspective. Rent a
kayak at
sunset and watch the Sonoran Desert disappear into the darkness. Get up early
and paddle amongst the dolphins as the come right up to your boat!
- Kite Surfing: One of our favorite ocean toys for playing! Kite
surfing requires a brave spirit and sense of humor. If you've never tried
this sport before, take a lesson from the experts! They'll have you riding the
waves in no time. Caution: adventurous souls only!
- Museums: Intercultural Center for the Study of Deserts and
Oceans, or CEDO, is a great place to take the kids and explore the desert
and sea in a way you never have before. Learn about giant whales, listen to
natural history talks, or even join in a field adventure.
- Parasailing: There is nothing quite like a peaceful ride over the Sea of
Cortez with nothing but you, your travel partner, and the warm Mexico breeze as
your companions. Experience a world away from the ground below with a parasailing
adventure check out panoramic views of the Sonoran Desert and Rocky Point
shoreline 800 feet in the air.
- Sandy Beach: This is one of the best beaches in the area to explore. Walk
the shoreline, sunbathe, or take a dip in the water.
- Scuba Diving: Explore the Sea of Cortez with an underwater adventure. Check

- Ultra Lite Adventures: You cannot leave Rocky Point without trying this
unique and exciting experience! Think hang gliding meets the Wright Brothers,
sans ancient equipment. This incredible ride enables you to fly with an
experienced pilot absolutely anywhere in Puerto Penasco.
